DLSU to embark on program development with ECAM La Salle

De La Salle University is strengthening its collaboration with ECAM La Salle in Lyon, France through the development of strategic programs, including the offering of the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) Triple Degree Program.

ECAM La Salle representatives Director General Didier Desplanche and Program Manager for Pedagogy Naomi Reiner visited the DLSU Manila campus last June 27 to meet with the top administrators of the university led by DLSU President Br. Bernard Oca FSC as well as members of the Gokongwei College of Engineering (GCOE).

The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the two Lasallian institutions was held at the Villavicencio Boardroom of the DLSU Henry Sy, Sr. Hall, with Desplance signing for ECAM La Salle and Br. Bernie for DLSU.

With the unique MSME Triple Degree Program, students have the opportunity to earn the degree BSMS at De La Salle University and their MS degree at ECAM La Salle, where they will earn the title of Engineer in France. There are two specializations of the MSME Triple Degree Program: one is Sustainable and Smart Production and the other is Sustainable Energy.

During their meeting, the members of the two institutions also discussed the direction of their collaborative activities. The DLSU Office of Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization together with the GCOE Dean’s Office and the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) hosted the event.

The ECAM La Salle delegates together with some ME faculty members also paid a courtesy call to the Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of France to the Philippines, Marc Piton.
