DSWD supports National Vaccination Day, encourages beneficiaries to get vaccinated

In support of the upcoming National Vaccination Days, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to strengthen its efforts and advocacy to encourage program beneficiaries to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Dubbed as ‘Bayanihan, Bakunahan’ this activity aims to achieve population protection through the convergence efforts of national government agencies and local government units to vaccinate some 15 million Filipinos nationwide on November 29, 30, and December 1.

The simultaneous vaccination drive against COVID-19 targets to cover the indigent sector, children aged 12 to 17 years old, and other individuals who have not been inoculated yet.

In an effort to support this whole-of-nation and whole-of-society approach to COVID-19 vaccination, the Department continues to conduct information campaigns to encourage its beneficiaries, particularly beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) including 4Ps school-aged children, to get vaccinated against coronavirus.

Likewise, the 4Ps-National Program Management Office has partnered with the Department of Health (DOH) in conducting the Round Table Discussions with 4Ps beneficiaries and parent leaders to guide them in arriving at their informed decisions about the vaccination. Furthermore, the importance of vaccines is being discussed in 4Ps’ regular Electronic/Offline Family Development Sessions.

The DSWD continues to coordinate with and assist the DOH in cascading the necessary and relevant information regarding the vaccination program to help mitigate the wide-reaching effect of COVID-19 pandemic.
