GMA Network renews FILSCAP license for all its channels

GMA Network renews its Broadcast Music Public Performance License with the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP), the official music public performing collection society in the country. Through this, GMA continues to recognize the rights of composers, authors, and publishers to their original musical works.

The signed five-year contract permits the Kapuso Network in using copyrighted music on GMA, GMA News TV, its digital channels, as well as in the webcast of its programs in GMA-owned or controlled websites.

GMA also previously established the Music Compliance Administration Unit under the Post Production Department’s Music Production Section.

Accredited by the Intellectual Property of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to perform the roles of a collective management organization, FILSCAP grants music users the legal permission to publicly play, broadcast, stream, or reproduce any copyrighted local and international musical compositions of its members and the members of its affiliate foreign societies.
