PAF member killed in Batangas road mishap

CUENCA, Batangas — A member of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) died at the hospital after the vehicle he was driving accidentally hita road barrier here on Christmas day.

Cuenca Municipal Police Station chief Captain Hazel L. Suarez identified the fatality as A2C Alexander Miranda, an enlisted personnel of the Philippine Air Force.

PSMS Allan Galo and PMSg Gerry Palon immediately proceeded to the accident site.

Initial investigation showed Miranda was driving his vehicle and traversing the highway along Rancho Bridge in Bgy. Labac, when the accident occurred at around 1:35 p. m.

Upon approaching a sharp curve portion, Miranda avoided an oncoming vehicle from the opposite lane and lost control of the steering wheel. He hit the cemented barrier at the middle portion of the bridge entrance.

Due to the impact, the vehicle turned around, leaving Miranda stuck in the driver’s seat.

Responding police officers, Bureau of Fire Protection personnel, MDRRMO of Cuenca town, medical staff of the Martin Marasigan hospital, and concerned citizens extracted Miranda from the vehicle and rushed him to the hospital but to no avail.
