PNP custodial center chief relieved over Parojinog complaint

A CRIMINAL complaint for alleged attempted rape, acts of lasciviousness, violation of safe spaces and unjust vexation filed by a detained former Ozamiz City Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog against the head of the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame has triggered the relief and investigation of the latter.

Lieutenant Colonel Jigger Noceda was placed under the restrictive custody of PNP-HSS director, Brigadier General Alexander J. Sampaga on orders of PNP chief, General Camilo Pancratius P. Cascolan.

According to PNP spokesman, Colonel Ysmael S. Yu, the criminal charges against Noceda was filed by the PNP Women and Children Protection Center before a Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office following a complaint from Parojinog who is in detention for illegal possession of drugs and firearms.

“He (Noceda) will be administratively held and inquired. The Chief, PNP strongly stress that this act is not a virtue of a police being responsible, respected and disciplined. It will be dealt with accordingly,” said Yu.

However, Yu asked the media to wait for results of the investigation and the recommendation from the prosecutor’s office. “We know how it works there, the preliminary investigation, the raffle of the case and the resolution and the like. We abide by their system’s flow and process,” the official added.

The former Ozamiz City vice-mayor was arrested following a pre-dawn raid on their residence on July 30, 2017 which erupted into a shootout that killed her father, former Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and six others.

President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016 tagged the Parojinogs as among the top drug lords in Mindanao.

Noceda could not be immediately contacted on the charges hurled against him.
