Two Americans wanted for fraud, illegal drugs nabbed by BI

Americans

Two American fugitives wanted by US federal authorities for serious crimes such as fraud and illegal drugs were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration.

This was announced by Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco who said that the two, identified as Teresita Kindle, 57 and Virgilio Carigma Cruz, 67, were arrested on September 27 and Oct.ober 6, respectively, by operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU) headed by its chief Rendell Ryan Sy.

Tansingco said he ordered the duo’s arrest at the request of the US authorities in Manila which sought the BI’s help in locating and deporting the fugitives. Both aliens are now detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while awaiting deportation.

“They will be deported and placed in our bureau’s blacklist of undesirable aliens, thus they are perpetually banned from re-entering the Philippines,” said Tansingo, adding that both Americans are already undocumented aliens as their passports were either revoked by the State Department or have already expired.

Tansingco said that Kindle was arrested at a condominium unit in Little Baguio, San Juan City on the strength of a deportation warrant that Tansingco signed pursuant to a deportation order that the BI board of commissioners issued against her last month.

Cruz, on the other hand, was apprehended at his residence in Bgy. San Pedro, Morong, Rizal, after an arrest warrant was issued against him by the superior court of New Jersey in February 2018 after he was indicted on illegal drugs charges, according to Sy.
