“Ramos Amilil, also known as alias Ramos led the fully-armed BIFF under Muslimin Amilil of the 2nd Division of BIFF – Karialan faction died at the scene of encounter that occurred at 2:15 a. m.”, said Lt. Col. Benjamin Cadiente Jr., Commanding Officer of 33rd Infantry ‘Makabayan’ Battalion.

Colonel Oriel L Pangcog, Commander of 601st Infantry (Unifier) Brigade said that the elements of the 33rd IB conducted an intensified military operation when the group of alias Ramos traded bullets with government forces but eventually scampered in different directions.

“The firefight lasted about eleven (11) minutes after which, the BIFF members scampered towards different directions leaving behind their casualty upon the assault of the opening troops while the government side had no casualties”, Col. Pangcog said.

The soldiers recovered Amilil’s body along with one M14 Rifle, one M16 Rifle, magazines, a bandolier, and several pieces of ammunition.

Major General Roberto S Capulong, Acting Commander of 6th Infantry ‘Kampilan Division and Joint Task Force Central lauded the troops of 33IB for their unwavering operations to curb lawlessness, criminalities, and terrorist threats in the JTFC area of jurisdiction.

“The death of Amilil is a big loss to the BIFF, a local terrorist group. Those weakened BIFF-Karialan Faction members who remain entangled in their twisted violent ideology and terroristic ways must surrender now, so for no more blood will be shed in the futile struggle”, MGen. Capulong pleaded as he underscored that government forces are continuously mounting offensives to neutralize the remaining BIFF terrorists and prevent them from waging violence and intimidation against our peace-loving communities in the province of Maguindanao.

Amilil’s death was the third of BIFFs neutralized, 133 surrendered while 105 high-powered firearms were confiscated and recovered from January to date.
