Sec. Gatchalian reports DSWD typhoon preps for “Mawar” during NDRRMC meeting

DSWD preps for typhoon "Mawar”

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian (right, head table) reports the preparations being undertaken by the Department to mitigate the effects of Tropical Cyclone Mawar during an inter-agency meeting at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday (May 25) in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The DSWD has prepositioned more than 1 million Family Food Packs (FFPs) in strategic locations and warehouses in the different regions across the country ready to be distributed to areas that will be affected by the cyclone, which is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the weekend.
