CORRUPTION will possibly rise if a wrong candidate is elected mayor of Quezon City.
This is according to the youth organization Unified Youth for Social Change-Akting Kabataan Alyansa sa Pag Unlad (GUYS-AKAP) in response to the statement made by QC Representative Bingbong Crisologo that he will do his best to upgrade the economic situation of QC residents.
The group said the statement of the QC representative is good but they doubt if he can do it in the whole city because in his own District, he was known only for giving free social services like free burial or interment.
GUYS-AKAP also received information that some owners of funeral homes in the city are pulling out their support to the program of free burial of other officials because some of them are allegedly asking for higher commission.
The group believes that a candidate of any position who failed to give basic services to his constituents should not be elected to a higher position.
In line with this GUYS-AKAP asked Quezon City residents to be mindful and be selective of news coming out regarding certain candidates because fake news is everywhere in the city.
They said the recent victim of fake news is Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte who is also running as mayor of the city.
GUYS-AKAP also called on QC voters to vote intelligently and look into the track record of every candidate and vote only those who deserve the position.
They said it is better for every voter to check the track record of every candidate and their program of action that will really bring change and progress to the city.
The group believed that if the wrong candidate will be elected as Mayor of Quezon City, there will be a big possibility that the city will again incur a huge debt.
It was learned that Crisologo is a mayoral candidate of Quezon City of the administration party PDP Laban but President Rodrigo Roa Duterte raised the hand of Serbisyo sa Bayan mayoral candidate Joy Belmonte.
Aside from Belmonte and Crisologo, former QC Councilor Chuck Mathay is also running for the city’s top post.
