Chinese nat’l nabbed for operating underground clinic

POLICE arrested a Chinese national for allegedly operating an underground clinic Thursday evening in Makati City.

Makati police chief P/Col. Oscar Jacildo identified the arrested Chinese as He Pian Yun, 58, presently residing at Room 506, 5th floor, Oyo 196 Destiny Hotel located at 4471 Mariano Street, Brgy. Poblacion which he allegedly converted into a clandestine clinic.

The arrest of He Pian stemmed from an information provided by a Chinese national who refused to be identified for security reason who claimed that his compatriot was conducting surgical operation and selling assorted medicines with Chinese character inside the room the hotel.

After receiving the report, Makati assistant chief of police for operation P/Maj. Tyrone Valenzona instructed the operatives of Intelligence Unit to conduct validation and surveillance operation that yielded positive result after a confidential informant was able to purchase Chinese medicine from the suspect.

At around 9 p.m., joint elements of Makati police and personnel of Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of the Makati City Hall raided the underground clinic that operates without necessary permit and license that resulted to the arrest of the suspect and seizure of assorted medicine and health products with Chinese labels/

The arrested suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for vilation of R.A. 9711 otherwise known as Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.
