Manila – AirAsia Philippines, amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila plus (Metro Manila and CALABARZON), has elevated its internal COVID-19 response to ensure the health and safety of its Allstars (employees) and its guests, hence optimizing operations and preventing flight cancellations.

AirAsia Philippines has also established a Safety Plus 24/7 Team composed of different department leaders and the People and Culture – Medical team to strengthen its support and monitoring of the health and well-being of its employees, including by distributing medication and vitamins to those who have contracted the virus.

The airline welcomed the first week of January by enforcing the submission of the online daily health check form which monitors the health condition of all its Allstars, including those who are on work at home status. Its flight operations department is also clustering schedules and does regular onsite Antigen tests for flight deck and cabin crew.

AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson Steve Dailisan said, “Adequate planning and anticipation are key to mitigating the risks entailed on the unprecedented surge of COVID-19 cases. Thankfully, we have initiated the reintegration training of our hibernated staff as early as December and gradually this January which will complement the requirements for manpower.”

“Internally, we have added layers in monitoring and clustering among our Allstar frontliners to make sure that our flight schedules remain unhampered during these times.”

AirAsia Philippines also prioritized securing booster shots for all of its employees who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Partnerships with Local Government Units (LGUs) have also been very helpful in this initiative.

Staying true to its core value of being guest obsessed, AirAsia Philippines also offers enhanced flexibility among its guests who wish to move their flights amid this developing situation.

AirAsia guests may avail of the unlimited rebooking option with no change fees by accessing the manage my flight option through the airasia Super App or airasia.com.

“At AirAsia we recognize the need for timely travel information. For this reason, our Customer Happiness team is working vigorously to make sure that guest inquiries in all of our social media platforms are attended to promptly and adequately,” Dailisan added.
