NCRPO’s 3rd most wanted man collared in Batangas

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, Major General Debold M. Sinas yesterday announced the capture of Metro Manila’s 3rd most wanted person during a manhunt operation in Balayan, Batangas on Monday.

The official identified the suspect as Rey Madrid alias ‘Marcelo,’ a 26-year old farmer from Bgy. Duhatan in Balayan who is wanted for a murder case with no bail recommended by Judge Madonna Concordia of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 81.

According to Sinas, members of the NCRPO Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Regional Special Operations Group, with the help of officers from the Police Regional Office 4-A Regional Intelligence Division and the Batangas Police Provincial Office arrested the suspect at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

He said the suspect’s arrest was triggered by information provided by his co-accused Gregorio Aldovino last October 27.

Madrid was tagged as the principal accused in the killing of one Evelyn Leona in Q.C. on September 10, 2017 following a long-time dispute, the NCRPO director said.

Sinas said that after the killing of Leona, the suspect went to Balayan with his wife and kids and worked as a sugarcane farmer for three years until his arrest.

The suspect is now being held at the NCRPO-RSOG lock-up facility pending his presentation to the Q.C. court for issuance of a detention order, said Sinas.
