PNP rescues kidnapped Chinese nat’l in Cavite

MEMBERS of the PNP- Anti- Kidnapping Group (AKG) rescued another kidnap victim Thursday midnight in Cavite.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Debold Sinas said Chen Mingjon was rescued by operatives of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group in Bgy. Tibig, Silang Cavite at 12:30 a.m.on March 4, 2021, an hour after his fellow Chinese national Jiaqui Chen, 26, reported the kidnapping to police.

While AKG investigators were documenting the report, the kidnappers called the complainant demanding an additional ransom for Mingjon on top of the 53,000RMB Chinese currency ransom they already paid thru a mobile and online payment platform.

For fear the victim will be killed or beaten up, his company secretly transferred 9,750RMB thru the same online payment facility.

After receiving the money, the kidnappers released the victim at around 9:30 p.m. in Bgy. Kaong, Silang, Cavite.

AKG operatives from the Luzon Field Unit led by Police Major Mike Diaz together with the complainant proceeded to the area and found the victim.

During investigation, the victim revealed he was kidnapped by seven Filipino men and women, and was brought to a house where he was kept guarded. Moments later, he was blindfolded and handcuffed then brought to Bgy. Kaong and walked toward a dark area in Bgy. Tibig until he was rescued.
