MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna has directed that the recital of the ‘Panunumpa ng Isang Kawani’ be done every first flagraising ceremony of the month and called on all city officials and employes to put the said oath to heart and into action.

In her short message at yesterday’s flag ceremony, Lacuna said she employees’ oath will serve as a reminder and guide as to how each and every worker in City Hall must discharge his functions.

Among others, the oath makes a vow to report early, take care of the city’s properties under his care, attend to those in need of their office’s services with fervor, report wrongdoings and function beyond working hours if and when necessary.

Dapat tapat at mahusay.

The city’s first lady mayor stressed that city employees and officials must be thankful to be put in their position since not everyone is given the unique opportunity to be of service to their fellowmen.

Also yesterday, Lacuna called on city residents who have not yet registered their SIM cards to avail of the free assistance being provided by Globe telecoms at the Bonifacio Shrine beside the Manila City Hall.

The mayor said that the event which kicked off yesterday at the said venue is the first NCR-based assisted SIM card registration.

“Grab the opportunity to have your SIM cards registered,” said Lacuna, adding that those interested may go to the Bonifacio Shrine where at least eight personnel will be simultaneously providing assistance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday.

The activity, she said, is pursuant to Republic Act 11934, better known as the SIM card Registration Act, which set April 26, 2023 as the deadline for the registration of SIM cards.

It was learned that coordination is also being made by the said company with barangays to bring the SIM registration to the residents’ doorstep.
