2 men without face masks yield P.3M shabu

TWO men who were caught violating city ordinances found themselves in deep trouble after police seized from them more than P346,000 worth of shabu Saturday night in Malabon City.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said elements of Sub-Station 7 led by P/Lt. Robert Kodiamat were conducting “Oplan Galugad”, in relation to synchronized enhanced managing of police operations (SEMPO), along Celia 2 St., Bgy. Bayan-Bayanan at around 11 p.m. when they chanced upon Henison Tanghal, 42 and Christopher Reyes, 44, both residents in the area, while walking along the street during curfew hour and without face masks.

When operatives subjected the suspects to a body search, they yielded 41 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 51 grams with standard drug price worth P346,800, two small weighing scales, a medicine kit and P3,300 in cash.

Case investigator P/SSgt. Salvador Laklaken Jr. said apart from violating curfew hours and not wearing face mask, the suspects were charged for violating Section 11 or possession of dangerous drugs under Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act and violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code or Disobedience when they were presented for inquest proceedings before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
