AN explosion damaged the vehicle of a sister of Ako Bicol party-list Representative Elizady Co in Legazpi City, Albay around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, a Philippine National Police report said yesterday.
Nobody was reported injured in the blast
Initial investigation showed the blast occurred in front of the house of the lawmaker’s sister Donna Salcedo Co along First Street in Our Lady’s Village in Bgy. Bitano, Legazpi City.
The explosion damaged a white Toyota Hilux pickup owned by the 51-year old Co.
Local police are still investigating the motive and identities of the suspect or suspects behind the blast. The type of the explosive used is also still being determined.
Police are checking if the businesswoman had been previously targeted for ‘extortion’ by some lawless elements in the area, said the report sent to PNP chief, General Debold M. Sinas.
