House search yields grenade, gus, ammo but not suspect

CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — A grenade, guns and ammunition were seized from a house during the serving of a search warrant against a suspect in Bgy. San Vicente, Sto. Tomas City, Batangas.

A report to Batangas police director Col Rex Arvin T. Malimban by Sto. Tomas Municipal Police Station chief Lt. Col Armie S. Agbuya identified the suspect as Erlindo Custodio Baez.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) NCRFU, CIDG 4A, Santo Tomas police and the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT), Rizal PPO, and Batangas PPO served a search warrant against Baez who was not around during the operation.

Present during the implementation were Baez’s wife. The authorities were assisted by Bgy. San Vicente Kagawad Teodorico Latayan and Tanod Randy Villanueva.

Recovered were a fragmentation hand grenade, a .45 caliber pistol, submachine gun Ingram-9mm and a magazine, 11 live bullets for a .45 firearm, 12 pieces of ammo for a 9mm, and two .45 caliber magazines.
