As part of the preparation for the incoming face-to-face classes in the country, the DepEd Schools Division office of Valenzuela starts-off the “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral” through the help and support of the Local Government of Valenzuela City, Monday, August 08, 2022.
Vice President Sara Duterte, the newly appointed Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary of the Marcos’ administration, announced through DepEd Order No. 034 that the official opening of classes for academic year 2022-2023 will begin on August 22, 2022.
It has been two rough years since the pandemic happened and our education system was completely affected that we opted to try anything to cope up with the situation we are in. We ended up going for different mode of learnings including studying through modular set-up and through online medium.
Mayor WES Gatchalian, on the other hand, sends his support to the teachers and parents for the approaching face-to-face mode of learning in the next days.
“Ako po’y nakikiisa sa ating pagbabalik-eskwela at paghahanda natin sa ating face-to-face after a long time,” Mayor WES said. [I am in solidarity in our return to school and our preparation for our face-to-face after a long time].
In line with the said preparation of the parents, teachers, school heads and the local government of the city for the physical classes, Valenzuela City’s School Governance and Operations Division and Social Mobilization and Networking Section discussed the DepEd Order No. 13 series of 2022, titled: “Omnibus Guidelines On The Regulation Of Operations Of Parent-Teacher Associations”.
Atty. Hazel G. Dilig-Carandang, talked about the prohibited and inhibited acts based on the updated article of the Department of Education (DepEd). The said order has its purpose to create a healthy and united bond between the parents and the teachers for the well-being of the students since the official classes will commence soon.
Meanwhile, also present in the said event is the inspiration for “Nanay-Teacher”, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja to show her full support for the face-to-face class preparation.
“Bukod sa pisikal na kaanyuan ng ating mga paaralan, importante na bilang mga magulang [ay] mas maihanda natin ang ating mga anak sa pagbabalik [nila] sa school,” Vice Mayor Lorie remarked. [Aside from the physical appearance of our schools, it is also important that as parents, we better prepare our children when [they] return to school].
Ms. Cristina Ibañez, 44 years old, one of the parents who participated the Brigada Eskwela for her daughter who’s studying in Bignay Elementary School, shared her preparation for the incoming reopening of classes. She secured her daughter’s safety and got her vaccinated before the actual resumption of the face-to-face set-up. Moreover, she made sure that facemask and isopropyl alcohol is included inside her daughter’s bag going to school.
“Tinuruan ko rin siya kung anong gagawin sa school, kailangan palaging gumamit ng [isoprpyl] alcohol, maghugas ng kamay, at [kung minsan] dumistansya para sa kanyang kaligtasan,” Ibañez said pertaining to her daughter getting ready for school. [I taught her what to do in school, she always need to use [isopropyl] alcohol, wash her hands, and [sometimes] distance herself from everyone for her protection]
The Valenzuela City Government through the leadership of Mayor WES Gatchalian, aims to secure the Valenzuelano students a normal schooling experience amidst the pandemic. In relation to this, the local government keeps pursuing its people to get booster shot for their safety against the virus of COVID-19 pandemic.
