Motorcycle-riding man throws grenade

MANILA Police District Director PBGen. Vicente Danao, Jr . ordered a manhunt for the motorcycle-riding male suspect who threw a hand grenade at a seafood restaurant in Barangay San Miguel, Manila which wounded one.

Victim Macario Tinio, 59, of 514 4th Street, C. Aguila, San Miguel, was rushed to the hospital after he was wounded in the incident that took place at  around 3:30 p.m. at the C-Foods Resto located at 5th Street, C. Aguila, San Miguel.

Danao said the police are looking at the angle of either business competition or grudge, after information gathered said the owner recently laid off some of the employees and that there are rivals in the area.

A CCTV footage of the blast showed the suspect waiting before finally driving by and throwing the said grenade.  His face could not be seen as he was wearing a helmet.

It was learned that some months ago, a suspect also threw a hammer at the said restaurant, shattering its window glass panel and  after that, the owner,who refused to be named, had been receiving death threats via his cellphone.
