VICE President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte expressed gratitude to a ride hailing app service that expressed its support to her stewardship at the DepEd by offering free motorcycle taxi rides for public school teachers and personnel in Makati, Taguig, Pateros and Pasay. The free rides will initially run from August 22 until September 30, during school days.
Duterte said: “Sa muling pagbubukas ng ating mga paaralan para sa in-person learning, patuloy nating tinutugunan ang mga pangangailangan ng ating mga guro at personnel – at isa na rito ang pagbibigay ng safe, reliable, at free transportation service. Inaasahan namin na maraming public school teachers at DepEd personnel ang makikinabang sa mga ganitong inisyatibo, and we are thankful for Move It’s proactiveness, cooperation, and enduring support sa ating mga guro at manggagagawa sa Department of Education.
It was learned that Move It plans to offer DepEd teachers and personnel with Move It promo codes, which they can use to avail of the free rides through the Move It app, as well as offer assistance to school teachers and personnel with their booking needs via booths set up in Makati, Taguig, Pateros and Pasay.
The said ride service company expressed full support to DepEd under the rein of VP Duterte, especially during the resumption of in-person classes, saying its aim is to ease the daily commute challenges of public school teachers and DepEd personnel, allowing them to save more time and money from everyday commuting.
“Ang ating mga public school teachers at personnel ang katuwang natin sa paglinang ng kaisipan ng mga kabataan, at maging sa ating pag-unlad – kung kaya’t sa pagbubukas muli ng klase, nais namin maki-isa sa libo-libong mga public school teachers and DepEd workers sa pamamagitan nitong libreng sakay initiative. Nagpapasalamat kami sa ating Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Z. Duterte sa kanyang pagtitiwala at suporta. Simula pa lamang ito, at malugod kaming makikibahagi sa iba pang mga inisyatibo at pamamaraan na ating ilulunsad para sa ikabubuti, at kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan,” says Move It General Manager Wayne Jacinto.
