Valenzuela City as a progressive and empowering city have lined up events and activities to celebrate National Women’s Month this March. A jam-packed festivity where a variety of training and seminars will be conducted to achieve gender equality and better understanding of the rights of all genders.
A new era has begun as Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) launches its new theme from this year to 2028: WE for gender equality and inclusive society.
“WE” means two things: “Women and Everyone” and “Women’s Empowerment”. The theme indicates that everyone has a role to play in our long fight for equality, and empowering women pioneers change and big development in the struggle of attaining an inclusive society.
The celebration is also a call for a fair-minded and educated society. Hence, Valenzuela City is set in motion for the whole month as the Gender and Development (GAD) Committee spearheads a series of programs to support the movement.
