As part of the continuing celebration of the ‘Women’s Month’ in Manila, Mayor Honey Lacuna is inviting the public to support an ongoing event organized by the city government for women entrepreneurs.

“The City of Manila presents EntrePinays #WOMEaNBUSINESS, an event meant to recognize and support local businesses owned by Filipina entrepreneurs in the city,” Lacuna said.

Lacuna said permits bureau chief Levi Facundo is on top of the event, which began on March 13 and will end on March 19, 2023.

Under the program, the mayor said that Manila‘s female residents who are entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to showcase their products at the Bonifacio Shrine ranging from various kinds of food to dry goods.

Facundo said the stalls are open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the business owners are required to pay a very minimal amount to the city, or only P40 a day.

The said event is being held as part of the city government’s ‘Manila Support Local’ program which aims to promote locally-made products and thus help small and medium businesses to flourish.

Lacuna said that from one woman to another, she is all for helping women succeed in whatever field of endeavor they have chosen to pursue.

“Mula sa kauna-unahang babaeng alkalde ng Lungsod ng Maynila, ako ay taos-pusong tumitingala sa inyong pagsikap. Bida ang mga babae sa Maynila!,” she said.

For his part, Facundo said: ” We will extend to other business owners by giving out offers or discounts. We will post and advertise their offering through our Social Media pages EntrePinays, #WOMEaNBUSINESS and Manila Support on FB and IG.”
