MPD cop nabbed, 2 others questioned over Korean’s slay

koreanPolice District (MPD) policemen as arrested while two others were picked up for questioning in connection with the killing of a Korean national im Maysan, Valenzuela City last February 15.

MPD Director PBGe. Leo Francisco identified the arrested policemen as PCpl. Darwin Castillo, while picked up fir questioning were PSSG. Carl Legazpi and PCpl. Samruss Inoc, all of the MPD-Station 9 Roxas Boulevard Police Community Precinct near the Baywalk area.

Francisco said that based on initial investigation, the murder of Korean Sunuk Nam, 55, was related to money matters.

The three cops were held at around 3 p.m. on February 21 after the MPD coordinated with the tracker team of the Valenzuela City Police headed by Major Ferdinand Mendoza.

Inoc was picked up at the PCP while Castillo was accosted by the tracker team at the Quarantine Control Point (QCP) in Baywalk, Roxas Boulevard. Legazpi was deployed as a security team member on Mendiola Street in San Miguel, Manila when nabbed.

Valenzuela Police earlier arrested eight men in connection with the murder and that the alleged involvement of the policemen came about during the suspects’ interrogation

Nam was found dead in front of the St. Angelus Cemetery at Purok 4, Area 6, G. Marcelo St., Maysan, Valenzuela City at around 7 a.m. of February 15, 2021.

The Valenzuela police is reportedly set to file murder charges against the three cops who are also being investigated for the filing of administrative charges against them. With Alfred Dalizon
