NORTHERN Police District (NPD) busted six members of notorious “Onie Drug Group” operating within the northern area of Metro Manila and Bulacan and seized more than P1.4 million worth of shabu in two consecutive successful buy-bust operations Saturday evening in separate areas in Caloocan City and San Jose Del Monte (SJDM) City, Bulacan.
NPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan said the arrest of Rowena Lutao, 35, Ronaldo Rufo, 21, both of Brgy. Paradise III, Tungko, SJDM City, Renato Tumalad, 46 and Lorna Manalad, 50, both of Caloocan City, stemmed from an earlier operation conducted by the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) led by P/Capt. Aquiatan, Jr. in Caloocan city.
The four members of the Onie Drug Group were arrested in coordination with SJDM police chief P/Lt. Col. Crizaldy Conde at around 9:30 p.m. at 40 Purok 4, Brgy. Paradise III, SJDM after they sold P6,000 worth of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
The operating team seized more or less 105 grams of shabu from the suspects with standard drug price worth P714,000.00, a cal. 9mm pistol with magazine loaded with seven live bullets, cal. 38 revolver with four live bullets and cal. 380 Beretta pistol with magazine loaded with four ammunition and the marked money consisting of a P1,000 bill and five pieces of boodle money.
Ylagan said that earlier at around 7 p.m., Aquiatan, under the supervision of P/Lt. Col. Giovanni Hycenth Caliao I, chief of District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) arrested Janno Olivar, 28 of Julian, Felipe and Jhian Nartea, 18 of Tupda Village, along Sapang Saging, Julian Felipe, Bgy. 8 in Caloocan City, both members of the Onie Drug Group.
Seized from the suspects were 110 grams of shabu worth P748,000 and the P1,000 marked money used in buy-bust.
After two and a half hours, a follow-up operation was conducted, resulting in the arrest of four other drug group members in San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.
