Ecija man with bolo terrorizes churchgoers

ZARAGOSA, Nueva Ecija – A 24-year-old bolo-wielding man was apprehended after terrorizing church-goers on Friday morning here.

Provincial police director Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro identified the arrested suspect as Joshua Ed De Guzman, of Bgy. San Isidro, this town.

Saro said churchgoers sought police assistance after the suspect entered the compound of the San Vicente Parish Church carrying a bolo.

Seized from D Guzman were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, two cal. 38 revolvers with three fired bullets, four live cal. 45 bullets, a samurai, two bolos, and four mobile phones.

Saro said the suspect is now locked up in jail and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, violation of RA 10591, and illegal possession of deadly weapon before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
