EDP, UDM achievements cited

The City of Manila under the stewardship of Mayor Honey Lacuna continues reaping various forms of recognition as it was awarded ‘Excellence in Digital Public Service’ by GCash in the recent Digital Excellence Awards.

Lacuna said the digital wallet service provider recognized the tremendous increase in online transactions for online payments in 2022 via the City’s Go Manila App and Website ( www.gomanila.com ).

It was learned that both platforms have incorporated GCash payments for business and real property taxes, applications for civil licenses and certifications, cedulas and permits.

The lady mayor expressed gratitude after learning that the City of Manila is the only local government unit to be given the Excellence in Digital Public Service by GCash this year.

Said award was received by electronic data processing (EDP) head Fortune Palileo, whom Lacuna commended for a job well done.

The mayor also lauded the Universidad de Manila (UDM) headed by Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria after it attained an above national passing rate in nursing board exams.

The UDM, Lacuna said, achieved an overall rating of 87.61% in the November 2022 Philippine Nurse Board Examination, exceeding the national passing rate of 74.40%

She said that a rating of 93.88% for first- time takers was attained by the university, with 92 graduates obtaining the passing mark. Joining the 18,529 takers in the Philippines are 113 examinees from the university.

Lacuna told Tria to keep up the good work and expressed pride for the achievement of the UDM and its students.
