Man released from jail in Aug. shot dead

A 40-YEAR-OLD man who had just gotten out of jail ended up dead when still unidentified gunmen shot him dead in a vacant lot in Dagupan, Tondo, Manila the other day.

The victim, Manolito Bartolome, of 742 Benita St., Dagupan, Tondo, died on the spot.

A probe by P/SSg Mark Daniel De Guzma, of the Manila Police District-homicide section, said the incident took place around 1:30 p.m. beside the NHA Building 4 near the railroad tracks in Barangay 185 in Dagupan.

The two suspects wore hooded jackets, black facemasks and glove.

Salvador Manalaysay, 48, tricycle driver, told probers he was watching television at the second floor of his home when he heard shots. He looked out the window and saw the suspects firing at the victim, hitting him in the head and body.

The duo then reportedly walked casually away from the crime scene and went to an unknown direction.

The victim was said to have been released from jail in August. He got incarcerated on drug charges.
