Mayor Honey Lacuna enjoined the support of all residents and employees in boosting the tourism industry in the city of Manila by not being contented with it being just a ‘stopover’.

The lady mayor made the call as she shared that recently, she witnessed the arrival of the Silver Spirit, the first cruise ship that docked in the city after pandemic first hit two and a half years ago.

Lacuna added that the said event spells a big help in boosting tourism in the country and even in Manila.

One of the important ways to make Manila inviting, she said, is to keep the city clean, including its nooks and crannies.

Speaking of this, Lacuna reiterated her repeated calls to observe cleanliness inside and outside the home.

It will be recalled that in her first day in office as city mayor, Lacuna issued an Executive Order designating every Friday of the week as ‘Cleanup Day’ in city government offices and barangays.

Just the same, she constantly urges Manilans to make everyday a ‘Cleanup Day’ and to ensure that their surroundings or immediate vicinities are clean at all times.
