P80M goods destroyed

AN estimated P80 million worth of counterfeit and pirated goods seized by authorities this year were destroyed at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City yesterday.

The fake goods which include luxury bags, food seasoning, soap, lotion, shoes, watches and DVD products were flattened by tractor rollers during the destruction ceremony attended by PNP Officer-in-Charge, Lieutenant General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa and Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines Deputy Director Teodoro Pascua.

The counterfeit products were confiscated during operations conducted by agents of the PNP, the National Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies upon orders of President Duterte.
