Bgy exec, son, 2 helpers for hoarding alcohol, profiteering

A BARANGAY councilwoman, her son and two helpers involved in hoarding and selling alcohol more than double the price were arrested in an entrapment operation Wednesday afternoon in Pasay City.

Joint elements of Pasay Police Station Intelligence Section, 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing and 301st Special Mission Group of Philippine Air Force (PAF) arrested Eduardo Salvador, 24, his mother Gemma Montalbo, 51, Kagawad of Bgy. 88, and helpers Harvy Besa, 20 and John Paul Delos Reyes, 20, all of 122 Primero De Mayo St. Bgy. 88 Zone 9 at around 5;30 p.m. along Park Avenue, Bgy. 88.

Pasay police chief P/Col. Ericson Dilag said the arrest of the suspects was the result of intelligence report received by Air Intelligence and Security Wing of PAF which was positively verified by P/Capt. Deni Pedroso, chief of Station Intelligence Section prompting them to conduct and entrapment operation.

Case investigator P/SMSgt, Rodolfo Soquiña said Salvador, helpers Besa and Delos Reyes were caught red-handed while selling a bottle of alcohol for P185 each, doubled its regular price of P74.00 to a police poseur-buyer.

Soquiña said Kagawad Montalbo who allegedly served as lookout was also nabbed by authorities in the area

A total of 504 pieces of 500ml Isopropyl Alcohol were recovered by authorities from the arrested suspects which will be used in filing multiple charges of R.A. 10623.
