LUCENA CITY -- Two brothers were killed in an alleged shootout with anti- narcotis policemen conducting drug buy- bust at Purok Maligaya, Bgy. Ibabang Iyam, here, on Wednesday.
Quezon police director, Col. Audie Madrideo identified the slain suspects as Jerry Causapin Taburdan, 36, and his brother Benjie, 29, both farmers and residents of said village.
Madrideo said the incident transpired at 10 p.m. while members of Lucena City Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting a buy- bust targeting the Tadurans.
Quoting City police chief Lt. Col. Reydante Ariza, Madrideo said the poseur buyer Cpl. Josephus Jalimao managed to buy 0.30 gram of suspected shabu from the duo in exchange for a marked P500 bill.
“As Cpl. Jalimao introduced himself as a cop, the brothers resisted and traded bullets with him and his two back-up colleagues PSSg John Patrick Leis and Pat. Albert Serano, using cal. 38 revolvers,” said Madrideo.
