Binondo fire leaves 40 families homeless

ABOUT 40 families lost their homes to a fire that hit a residential area yesterday morning in Binondo, Manila.

The Manila Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire began from a three-storey house owned by a certain Richard Matuginas occupied by one April Matuginas Rafael and located on 1070 Valderama St.

The fire was said to have started at 8:29 a.m. It was contained at 9:09 a.m.

F/Insp Gaudencio Magallanes. Jr. reported that at least 20 houses were razed to the ground.

No one was reported killed or injured. An investigation is under way to determine the cause and estimated damage to property.
