A TOTAL of 353 convicted felons who were freed through Good Conduct Time Allowance have already surrendered to the Philippine National Police as of yesterday afternoon beating the 15-day deadline set by President Duterte to yield or be hunted.
Of the 353, a total of 234 have been turned over already by the police to the Bureau of Corrections, 37 of them freed convicts who yielded to the National Capital Region Police Office headed by Major General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar and 32 to the Police Regional Office 2 headed by Brigadier General Jose Mario M. Espino.
Another 22 surrendered to the PRO1 headed by Brig. Gen. Joel S. Orduña; 19 yielded to the PRO9 under Brig Gen. Froilan F. Quidilla; 17 each to the PRO7 headed by Brig. Gen. Arnel B. Escobal and the PRO4-A under Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon M. Coronel; and 16 to the PRO7 under Brig. Gen. Debold M. Sinas.
Another 12 each surrendered to the PRO10 and the Cordillera Police Regional Office headed respectively by Brig. Gen. Rafael P. Santiago Jr. and Brig. Gen. Israel Ephraim T. Dickson and 13 to the PRO4-A under Brig. Gen. Edward E. Carranza.
PNP chief General Oscar D. Albayalde said that the 353 surrendered convicts include 115 convicted for murder and 108 convicted for rape. The others were convicted for murder and robbery, murder and frustrated murder, attempted rape with robbery with homicide, dangerous drugs, parricide, homicide, carnapping, robbery, rape with homicide, rape and arson, kidnapping with murder, frustrated homicide and kidnapping.
