SENATOR Christopher Lawrenc “Bong” Go, together with Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan and Congressman Dave “Along” Malapitan gave out food packs, face shields and face mask to public utility jeepney drivers hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Oca said around 600 jeepney drivers belonging to 18 Jeepney Operators and Drivers Associations (JODA) received food packs to help them sustain their daily living after they failed to resume their services to commuters.
The city chief executive also assured the jeepney drivers that they will be given financial assistance through the help of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Aside from food packs, face masks and face shields, Senator Bong Go also distributed 25 bicycles and 25 tablets to selected jeepney drivers from Caloocan City who were still out of the road.
Mayor Oca expressed his gratitude to Go for continually extending assistance to his constituents and the support given to his administration.
Earlier, Go, together with Presidential Assistant to the Visayas, Secretary Lloyd Dino inaugurated the 90th Malasakit Center at the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Tala, Caloocan.
