WHILE wishing that an ordinary Filipino should win the more than P800 million jackpot prize of the 6/58 Super Lotto, Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes will not say no to the offer of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to give him P120 million if she wins the lottery.
“Why not, iko-call ko ’yan at least ‘di na ako kailangan tumaya,” Trillanes said when asked by reporters about Sara’s offer.
Sara earlier said she is willing to donate P120 million to the embattled senator to fund his legal fees. She made the statement after she placed her bet on Tuesday.
Duterte said that Trillanes will need the money to pay for his legal battles. She is referring to the revived rebellion and coup d’etat case of the senator at the Makati City Regional Trial courts.
“Panghahawakan ko ‘yan. Malaking bagay din ’yan para sa mga legal fees namin,” Trillanes said.
But Trillanes insisted that he wants an ordinary Filipino to win the lottery since he thinks that the Dutertes do not need more money.
“Kasi mas magandang manalo na ordinaryong tao,” Trillanes said. “Malamang hindi na kasi marami-rami na rin silang (Duterte’s) pera.”
