TOP personnel and units of the Police Regional Office 5 responsible for a much improved peace and order situation in Bicol region were cited on Wednesday as the local police force headed by Brigadier General Arnel B. Escobal marked its 118th Police Service Anniversary.
In behalf of Philippine National Police chief, General Oscar D. Albayalde, PNP Director for Operations, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup graced the PRO5 rites held at Camp Brig. Gen. Simeon Ola in Legazpi City.
In his speech, Licup congratulated the entire Bicol police force for their significant contribution to the fulfilment of the PNP’s mission to ensure peace and order by waging a relentless fight against drugs, criminality and corruption.
The official also cited the PRO5 for the major role it played in keeping the May 2019 national and local elections generally peaceful, if not the most peaceful in Bicol in recent history.
Licup and Escobal, both members of Philippine Military Academy ‘Hinirang’ Class of 1987, gave plaques of appreciation to outstanding PRO5 personnel led by Colonel Jeffrey S. Fernandez and Col. Melecio M. Buslig Jr.
The other awardees were Majors Arnold R. Reonal and Rhena N. Failoga, Chief Master Sergeant Nancy DC Alforte, Senior MSgt. Gerard A. Lladones, Staff Sgt. Zoilo B. Gueriña II, SSgt. Haidelyn P. Arevalo and Non-Uniformed Personnel Josephine A. Oliquino and Reggiemar N. Doctolero.
