Bank asks 10-day extension to answer LGU’s complaint

GAPAN CITY – After initially asking the court here for a 15-day grace period within which to file their answer to the civil complaint for annulment of bank interest charges filed by the local government of San Antonio, the East West Banking Corporation has sought another 10-day extension to file their pleadings, from Nov. 19 or until Nov. 29.

BONGABON, Nueva Ecija – Acting on an information provided by two surrendered New People’s Army rebels, the police and the military raided a suspected arms “depot” here on Friday and recovered two high-powered firearms with several rounds of ammunition, including wires that are believed used as detonating cords, a major component in the making of improvised explosive device.

Fallen ranger to get posthumous award

PALAYAN CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Nueva Ecija is reportedly set to confer the posthumous award of “Bayani ng Kalikasan” to a fallen forest ranger who was killed last month shortly after leading an anti-illegal logging operation that led to the arrest of three men and the seizure of a mini-Elf truck loaded with wood contraband.
